Getting started

What is the Scentsy Home app, and where can I get it?

Scentsy Home is the free companion app for the Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser. You can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching for “Scentsy Home.”

Is the app available for both iOS and Android devices?

Yes. The app requires at least iOS 11.0 or Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

Can I control my Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser from a tablet or computer?

You can use Scentsy Home on a tablet by downloading the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You cannot control your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser from a computer.

Can I control my Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser without the Scentsy Home app?

Yes. Buttons on the Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser allow basic control. However, to set up full customization, scheduling and remote access, you’ll need to use Scentsy Home.

Do I need to create an account to use the app?

Yes. Creating an account lets you securely connect your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser, save your preferences and access features from anywhere. You can create an account using your email address or by linking to your Apple or Google accounts, which can be selected directly on the app’s initial setup screen.

Do I need to be at home or on a Wi-Fi network to set up the app?

Yes. You’ll need to be near your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser and have your phone connected to Wi-Fi with your phone’s Bluetooth enabled during the initial setup. Follow the setup steps on the screen within the app to set up the device. Once connected to Wi-Fi, you can control your Cartridge Diffuser from anywhere.

Can I connect the app to my corporate Wi-Fi network at my office?

Many corporate or workplace Wi-Fi networks have added security measures that prevent smart devices from connecting. If this happens, you can still enjoy your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser by using the manual buttons directly on the Cartridge Diffuser. For the best app experience, try connecting through a secure home or personal Wi-Fi network instead.

What type of Wi-Fi network do I need?

Like most smart home devices, the Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser needs a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection during setup. Many routers handle this automatically. If you have trouble connecting, check your router settings to confirm your Wi-Fi is configured for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only. It will not work on 5GHz Wi-Fi. Contact your internet service provider for more assistance setting up a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

Can I control my Cartridge Diffuser via Bluetooth?

No. A Wi-Fi network is needed to control the device with your phone.

Using the app

What features can I control via the app?

With the app, you can:

• Turn your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser device on and off.
• Adjust fragrance intensity levels of low, medium and high.
• Control the light settings by turning them on and off, and change the light color and brightness level.
• Set a timer to turn the Cartridge Diffuser off.
• Set and manage schedules.

Can I control multiple devices from the app?

Yes. You can connect and manage multiple Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffusers within one account in Scentsy Home.

Can I schedule fragrance release for specific days of the week or times of the day?

Yes. You can create custom schedules so your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser turns on and off automatically at times you choose.

Can I change the schedule remotely?

Yes. Update schedules or control your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser from anywhere with the app on your mobile device.

Will the app show me when it’s time to replace the Fragrance Cartridge?

Not at this time.

Can I reorder products from the app?

Not at this time.

Can I share access to the Cartridge Diffuser with other family members?

Yes. You can grant access so multiple people can control the Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser. You can set this up in the app by selecting the menu (three dots) and selecting “Share Device.” Select how you would like to share the device (via email, text message, etc.) and enter the recipients’ information. When the person you want to share the device with has downloaded the Scentsy Home app and is logged in, they can tap the link in the invite to add the device in their app. Please note: The Cartridge Diffuser can only be paired to one phone. So if another user pairs the Cartridge Diffuser to their phone, it will remove the Diffuser from the original phone. To control the Diffuser on multiple phones, it must be shared exactly as outlined here. There is no limit to the number of phones the Cartridge Diffuser can be shared with.

Connectivity

Do I need a Wi-Fi connection to use the app?

Yes. A Wi-Fi connection is required for setup and to control your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser from your mobile device.

How do I pair my device?

First, ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device. Second, connect your mobile device to a 2.4GHz compatible Wi-Fi network. On the Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser, press and hold the power button until it flashes blue. Go to the Home tab within the Scentsy Home app and tap the “+” button, then tap “Add Device.” The Cartridge Diffuser will display as a discovered device. Select that device and the Cartridge Diffuser will pair with your app. Once it’s complete, you can control the Cartridge Diffuser within the app.

What happens if my Wi-Fi goes down?

You can’t control the Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser from the app without a Wi-Fi connection. However, you can still use the Cartridge Diffuser manually with its onboard buttons. Once Wi-Fi is restored and the Cartridge Diffuser is connected, you will be able to resume control in the app.

Voice control

Can I use voice controls for my Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser with Amazon Alexa or Google Home?

Yes. You can use voice commands to control the Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser once you have the Scentsy skill enabled with those third-party devices. To set it up within the Scentsy Home app, select the device you would like to pair and select the menu (three dots) on the top right and then select “Third-party Control.” Follow the setup instructions and link to your Amazon Alexa or Google Home account.

What features can I use voice control for?

Once connected with your third-party app, you can use voice commands to control your Scentsy Fragrance Cartridge Diffuser.

If you’re using Amazon Alexa: Using the name you have set up for your Cartridge Diffuser, you can turn the Cartridge Diffuser on and off; adjust the fragrance level to low, medium or high; turn the light and on off; and adjust the light color and brightness.

If you’re using Google Assistant: Using the name you have set up for your Cartridge Diffuser, you can turn the Cartridge Diffuser on and off.

What are some of the specific voice commands to use?

You can use various voice commands to control your Cartridge Diffuser. Some of the most common are: “Alexa, turn my Diffuser on.” “Alexa, turn my Diffuser off.” “Alexa, set the Diffuser fragrance level to high.” “Alexa, change the Diffuser light color to purple.” “Alexa, decrease the Diffuser light brightness.”

Troubleshooting, updates and privacy

How do I reset the app if it’s not working properly?

Close and reopen the app. If issues continue, log out of the app and sign back in. If you continue to see issues, delete the app and reinstall from the app store and pair the Cartridge Diffuser again.

Can I use the app to troubleshoot issues with my Cartridge Diffuser?

If you experience extensive issues with your Cartridge Diffuser, please contact customer support. They can provide further troubleshooting steps.

Will the app be updated regularly?

When there is an update available, you can download the updated version from your app store.

Does the app collect any data?

The app only collects limited information to ensure your Cartridge Diffuser works properly and to improve your experience. You can view details in the app’s Privacy Policy.
