Will Scentsy Candles create smoke?

What about safety?
Scentsy Candles are thoughtfully engineered and thoroughly tested for safer use. While any open flame carries inherent risk, every element of a Scentsy Candle — from wick to wax to vessel — is designed to perform predictably and safely under normal use. We comply with key ASTM safety standards to minimize hazards such as flare-ups, excessive heat or container breakage. Each Candle includes clear safety labeling and burning guidelines to help ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience.
Are there specific safety precautions for using the Candles?
- Burn Scentsy Candles for no longer than 4 hours at a time.
- Always trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn session. This prevents igniting a flame that is too big. The longer the wick, the more oxygen the flame can take in and the larger the flame will be.
- Always remove the piece of trimmed wick rather than letting it fall into the melted wax.
- Always trim the wick when it’s completely cooled and prior to lighting the Candle again.
- Keep Candles out of drafts, open windows and flammable areas, and out of reach of pets and children.
- Only use Scentsy Candles on a stable, level, fire resistant surface within your sight.
- Safely extinguish Candles when there’s ¼ inch of wax remaining in the vessel. Discard or remove cooled wax and reuse vessel.
How do multi-wick Candles work?
Multiple wicks are better for larger vessels, creating an even burn and a more expansive fragrance experience. Always ignite and burn all the wicks of a Candle at the same time to avoid tunneling and damaging the wax structure.
How can I prevent the wick from burning too low and falling into the wax?
Scentsy Candles are crafted to avoid wick drowning (burning too low, falling into the melted wax). If you follow all care and burn instructions, this shouldn’t happen.
How long do Scentsy Candles last?
This varies by Candle vessel size. See the product descriptions and packaging for approximate burn time.
Why is there wax left at the bottom of the Candle?
The wax remaining at the bottom of the Candle vessel is an intentional part of the wick manufacturing to avoid the bottom of the vessel getting too hot.
Is it normal for air pockets to form in the Candle, separating the wax from the glass?
It’s actually quite common and not a cause for concern. When wax cools and contracts, it can pull away from the sides of the glass vessel, creating air pockets. These are cosmetic only, not a flaw in the candle formulation or glass vessel. These air pockets may look like discoloration or gaps between the wax and the glass, but they have no effect on burn performance, fragrance experience or safety.
Is the Candle wax colored?
While Scentsy Candle wax is not dyed, the fragrance oils in each scent are different, so you may see varying shades of the soy-blend wax color.

What is the warranty for Scentsy Candles?
Scentsy Candles come with a lifetime replacement warranty for manufacturing defects. If your Candle is damaged in shipping from Scentsy or has a manufacturing defect, it may be returned within a reasonable time for repair or replacement. If you are otherwise dissatisfied with your Candle, you may return it in resalable condition for exchange within 30 days of the delivery date. Scentsy does not offer refunds.
Why aren’t Scentsy Bars made with the soy-wax blend used in Scentsy Candles?
Scentsy Bars are made with high-quality paraffin wax to prioritize maximum fragrance performance. Because there is no flame involved in a Scentsy Bar-and-Warmer system, soot isn’t a concern. With Candles, the element of combustion can produce soot, so we use a premium soy-paraffin wax blend to strike the best balance between fragrance strength and a cleaner burn. We thoughtfully choose each type of wax to deliver the safest and most effective experience for how it’s being used.
